COURTNEY DAMA

Courtney Dama, clarinetist and music instructor, is thrilled to spread her love of music in Clarksville TN!  Mrs. Dama’s past teaching experiences include serving as Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at University of North Georgia and maintaining a competitive private studio. She is known for her emphasis on foundational studies and loves teaching rhythmic precision. She holds a Master of Music and Artist Certificate from Georgia State University and a Bachelors of Arts in Musical Performance from Auburn University. She is thankful for past instructors to include Kenneth Long, David Odom and Elizabeth Potter.

Mrs. Dama’s solo performance of Weber’s Concerto No. 1 in F minor, Op. 73 won the 2009 Auburn University Concerto Competition and her focus in orchestral music has landed jobs with LaGrange Symphony and Summerville Orchestra. She has a fond appreciation for chamber music and collaboratively founded Trio 91, The 1716 Collective and The Morisot Duo. Her performance of Mozart’s Gran Partita in B Flat Major, K. 361 with the Atlanta Chamber Winds received airplay on WABE Atlanta.

With a keen interest in contemporary music, Mrs. Dama has performed in venues such as Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery and Erikson Clock. Her contemporary influences include Gregory Wanamaker, Carlos Sanchez-Guitierrez, Joseph Eidson and Katherine Saxon.  She has been selected as an invited performer and presenter at the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference, the United State Navy Band International Symposium, the McCormick Marimba Festival, the National Association of Composers Conference and the 4th Annual Young Harris College Clarinet Summit.

Mrs. Dama moved with her family to Fort Campbell in 2021 to support her husband’s military career. She lives with her husband, 2 children (Samson and Oakley) and dog (Tiger). Her hobbies include sewing, hand embroidery and yoga.
